Darker Angels by M.L.N. Hanover

The Black Sun's Daughter, Book 2

Thankfully, this book caught me from the beginning (unlike the last book). Maybe it caught me because of where it was set, New Orleans ... Maybe because there was a young girl in the book with the gift of Sight or maybe because it seemed as though Jayne was less annoying than in book one. Either way it goes ... This book is a lot better than the first.

Jayne, Ex, Chogyi Jake and Aubrey travel to New Orleans to help out an ex FBI agent, Karen, who wants to save a girl from being 'ridden.' As soon as I got a good grip on Karen, I already knew it would be a person Jayne would have some kind of a conflict with because she's what Jayne is supposed to be. One thing that I didn't expect was Ex ... WOW.

I have to shut myself up before I give away key points of the book but I will say ... I thought Jayne would have grown up a bit but no, Jayne is still annoying, there is still no mention of Black Sun's Daughter, and although the book has excellent cover art ... It has nothing to do with the heroine. Ugh ...

Definitely better than the first but Jayne still annoys me to no end.

3 Stars
IR: Potential interracial situation ... Just speculation. I believe Chogyi Jake is white, but he said in the book that he doesn't find white women attractive. I'll be looking out for that in the next books to come.

Moon Shadow by Lucinda Betts

This wasn't ever put on my 'Currently Reading ...' box on the side bar, It was on my 'Reading Next ...' box ... I just happened to pick it up when I left Darker Angels in the car and was getting into another.

I bought it because it was said to be interracial witch romance ... I dont know how the hell I didn't see that it was more erotic than anything else. I stopped 3 pages into the first chapter. This woman had to finger screw herself on a heart pentagram to get the spell to work right.

Finger screw herself ...

I tried to get through it but could not ... I love porn but I can't stand reading about sex ... Just no.

0 Stars.
IR: I have no idea.

Dark Passion by Sara Reinke

The Brethren Series, Book 3

Is Deva crying like a bitch? Wanted to but no, lol ... Wouldn't get me that easily. I picked up this book late last night and finished it just now ... My mind is blown. All the gripes I had about the second book are non existent when reading the third. I do not know how to put into words how I feel about this wonderful end of the series.

Ok first ... I do have 2 gripes. 1) Lina was annoying as HELL ... 2)Eleanor and the non-tying up of the ending.

Read the book and you'll know what #2 is about.

Anywho ... There were so many questions answered in this book. I wish the book would have been stretched to a book 4 so she could really cover all that information she packed in there ... But at the same time, I think she did a damn good job with putting it in that 1 book.

What else to say? I'm just dumbfounded ... All the info ... Things I'd wanted to know where answered as just ... *sigh* ... So happy with this. The book costs a pretty penny online, but hopefully you can find it cheap at a Half Priced Books like I did ... Its worth scouting for.

4 1/2 Stars.
